Dear Friends,
We are glad to invite you cordially to the second year of our annual event on celebration of equality of love and sexuality, “Colors of Love”, to be organized on the 18th of March, 2011 in Kolkata.
This years’ event will mark the Kolkata version of our protest against the recent homophobic journalism by TV-9 channel. It will also feature a panel discussion on LGBT rights, focusing on the much awaited Supreme Court verdict on Section 377 of Indian Penal Code, on issues of coming out and on sensitive journalism. This will be followed by a film screening and/or a stage performance.
The panel will consist of noted psychiatrists, sociologists, lawyers, media persons and friends and parents of LGBT persons, who will share their views and experiences on the above aspects of LGBT rights.
The event expects to see a rush of college and university students, medical students, psychologists, teachers, parents and LGBT persons in the audience seats.
Keeping with the spirit of Holi (which is on the 19th), the event will end with a Rakhi-Bondhon Utshab, to symbolize the unity of different colors of love and life.
The details of the event are given below:
